mix of both alt rock and
punk.  Haunting, playful,
spiritual, and even
inspirational all describe
this artist's penchant for
putting it all out there in
their music.
LP Review:  "Century of Self"
Jamie Metcalf, Octave Match

And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - with a name like that one expects an album of death metal or evil punk, but this band's
latest album is a resonate mix of piano and guitar rock on top of spiritually profound lyrics. Their sixth album, "Century of Self", is a 13
track Pink Floyd-esque mix of grinding non-stop strains, and short sweet melodies.

"Ascending" involves a complicated vocal duo by Conrad Keely and Jason Reece twisting two songs into one, while "Insatiable One" is a
soft piano solo.  "Isis Unveiled" is a powerful chant of forgiveness, "And if they raise their swords we'll let them hit. And if one has to be
forgiven then…We'll pardon all of them." It winds you down and just when you think it's over a new riff awakens, a technique they often
use.

A cult classic in the making, "Century of Self" will be available to the public on February 17th.
Conrad Keely is one of six multi-talented members of ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. Originally from Austin, TX this band
has been creating music since 1998. In this interview Conrad describes his views on art, the worst show they've ever put on, and a few
behind the scenes stories leading up to their newest 13 tracks.

Introspective song, "Halcyon Days", is about the hardships of moving from a place you love to a cold, hard city which evolved from
something written in high school. Conrad delves into that experience and adds, "I love Austin, but I need the hardship of the city to
stimulate me." He also talks about the motivation for "Isis Unveiled" and "Ascending".

Besides the life experiences that show up in every musician's work, Keely is also influenced by horror movie soundtracks, musicals like
"Jesus Christ Superstar", and music theory. "I know it's a very unpunk thing to care about, but I analyze other punk songs," he says
while explaining his writing process. "Some [songs] just get written in the head."

Their six album, "Century of Self", will be in stores February 17th.
